Validation of pH sensor

Kahne is pleased to announce that the pH sensor (as part of the KB1101 bolus) was validated by scientists at NSW DPI, Australia

In 2009, Drs J. Goopy and R. Woodgate of New South Wales Department of Primary Industries in Australia monitored the rumen pH of fistulated sheep over a 6-day period. The authors compared the pH readings from the Kahne bolus to that of a hand-held pH meter and found that there was a high degree of agreement between the two techniques (Pearson’s correlation = 0.89). The Kahne bolus provided continuous data at 3 minute intervals and was shown to have no indication of progressive drift (of the Kahne pH sensor) over the 6 days.
